i'd like to introduce Cocoa Chanel (left) and Ella Fitzgerald to all of you. we're at the OHSU Dental School in Portland, OR and they are lying on top of me to keep me calm during a painful procedure. Cocoa's wearing her yellow rain poncho and Ella's coat is from Ebay. i had a wonderful Yellow Lab for years: Good Willa Hunting. she never wore clothes except for Halloween, but little pups get cold and wet easily, it turns out. why can't i put more than one photos in this? i'm confused, as usual, on a new site.

BCRN東北オフ会♪

PGもBuddyもいたこの秋は、イベント三昧でした。だから・・　お疲れ様でした～～ということでBCRN東北オフ会開催！！

指令：　【２００９年１１月１４日土曜日15：00、DogRunぶらぼぉに集合！！】

し～っかし、オフ会に参加するのに片道１８０Km走り、しかもお天気は最高？！の猛烈豪雨　(￣▽￣;)!!ｶﾞｰﾝ　更に・・・　会場はお外♪　お泊りはクルマの中！！(_≧Д≦)ﾉ彡☆ばんばん　普通は中止か延期ですわ（笑）が・・・降ったり止んだりの豪雨の中、しごく当然？！にBCRN東北関連のみなさんで夕方から深夜にいたるまで、飲んで、食べて、さんざん盛り上がりました。すごっ♪

まっ、アルコールと立派な屋根さえあれば豪雨ごときどーにかなるもんなんですねぇ　｢(ﾟ～ﾟo)ｳｩｰﾝ感心♪

実は私、あぎんと二人だけで《お出かけ》したのって初めて、もちろん車中泊も初めて♪だったんです。　この夏にエスティマからプリウスに乗り換えまして・・・　【小さい！狭い！】と思っておりましたら、後ろ座席を倒すとフラットなトランクルームに早変わり(*^_^*)　身長165ｃｍの私、斜めにならずとも足を伸ばして寝ることができました。エスティマはフラットにならなかったから、予想外にも車中泊にはプリウスのが向いていたようです（笑）　でも、高さがないのでシュラフから抜け出るのが一苦労で、這って外にでましたね。あぎんは私の隣で一晩中、豪雨の音に怯え、雷に怯え、寝ることもできず座って外眺めてました（笑）途中、抱っこして寝かせてたんですが、雷嫌いのあぎんはたまらずウロウロ・・・・（汗）おかげさまで私すっかり寝不足でした。まったく、あぎんは修行が足りないなぁ。ウチのクルマのお隣さんちは車内に布団敷いて寝ていたコトを帰ってきてからブログを見て知っていたく感心したのですが、まぁ布団とまではいかずとも一人用のエアマットがあればもっと快適だったろうなと密かに思ったmike-nekoです。エアマットゲットしたら、またあぎん連れてお泊りに行こうっと♪　娘くらいだったら連れてっても一緒に泊まれるなっv(｡･･｡)ｲｴｯ♪　

次の日は小雨の中、DogRunで遊んできました。ボーダーコリーばっかり６頭　♪~♪ d(⌒o⌒)b♪~♪ﾗﾝﾗﾝ

ここ数年、息子の野球のお付き合いで週末はほぼ潰れてましたけど、やっとこんな風に自分の都合だけで楽しく週末をすごすなんて贅沢が許されるようになったんだなぁとちょっと嬉しくなった二日間です。ボーダーコリーの話、保護犬たちの話、もぉー犬三昧の会話を満喫して、まぁ正直身体はかなりハードではありましたが、ココロは超リフレッシュ♪　ホントに楽しかった。RunでドロドロになったあぎんをSelfWashで洗ってから無事帰宅。昨日の午後は爆睡でした（笑）

あたしカメラ忘れていったんだよね(；´Д`A ```　で・・仕方ないから夏にDogRunぶらぼぉに行った時の写真でもアップしてみようかなと思います（笑）美味しいお酒と食事、楽しい仲間と愛犬、いやぁ～～幸せだ！！　是非またオフ会やりたいですねっ　ﾜｸﾜｸ♪o(^o^o)(o^o^)oﾜｸﾜｸ♪

「私たちは、絶対捨てないから！」

子どもたち、みかんと出会う！！

家族に捨てられた犬の顔って【悲しい】ですね。上の写真はウチの子どもたちがはじめてみかんにあったときの写真です。娘が小１、息子が小３でした。この写真の1週間後に私たちは、彼女を家族として迎えました。保護活動をしていると同じような表情のワンコに出会います。

みかんの場合。
元気がない。トイレトレーニングが全然されてない。きっと、お散歩なんてしたことがなかったのでしょう(-_-;)　やせ細って筋肉がない、お外が怖くて歩けないし、すぐに疲れちゃう。頭に円形脱毛症がっ！ご飯も食べられず残す。ずーっと寝てるし・・・　このコが笑う日が来るんだろーかとずっと心配でした。分離不安で、コンビニでクルマの中で２～３分留守番させただけでもワンワン大騒ぎで、ひどい時にはおもらし。気長につきあっていくしかないなぁって・・・（笑）

「私たちは、絶対捨てないから！」　
きっと、保護犬の里親になるヒトはみんなそー思って迎えるんですね。だから、多少のことではめげないし、諦めません。そんな思いがきっとワンコにも伝わるんだと思います。

Finnegan, The Squirrel

Debby Cantlon, who plans to release Finnegan, the young squirrel, back into the wild, bottle-fed the infant squirrel after it was brought to her house.

When Cantlon took in the tiny creature and began caring for him, she found herself with an unlikely nurse's aide: her pregnant Papillion, Mademoiselle Giselle.

Finnegan was resting in a nest in a cage just days before Giselle was due to deliver her puppies.

Cantlon and her husband watched as the dog dragged the squirrel's cage twice to her
own bedside before she gave birth.

Cantlon was concerned, yet ultimately decided to allow the squirrel out and the inter-species bonding began.

Finnegan rides a puppy mosh pit of sorts, burrowing in for warmth after feeding, eventually working his way beneath his new litter mates.

Two days after giving birth, mama dog Giselle allowed Finnegan to nurse; family photos and a videotape show her encouraging him to suckle alongside her litter of five pups.

Now, Finnegan mostly uses a bottle, but still snuggles with his 'siblings' in a moshpit of puppies,
rolling atop their bodies, and sinking in deeply for a nap.

Finnegan and his new litter mates, five Papillion puppies, get along together as if they were meant to.

運動会

今日の子供達の元気さ加減は並じゃありませんでした。　見ているだけで疲れた。　マナも初めてリードなしで遊ばせてもらえて大はしゃぎ。　脱走しそうになるとハムとチーズで呼び戻し。　ちょこっと脱走したけど、ひとしきり走って帰宅したので、進歩進歩。　油断禁物。　とにかく運動会のような一日でした。

Hearing Loss

Our little family has relocated to somewhere in Alabama. There aren't much activities like New York. You definitely need a car to get around, and everything is at least 30-minute drive.

This is not permanent. We are thinking of this relocation to last about 8 months until the economy in New York picks up. So far it's been good. My pups both love the country life.

Then this relocation made us realize that Arnott may have a hearing problem. In New York, I never had to call out his name. He was always near us, at the leash distance. We lived in a small apartment, and walked in Central Park.

After we moved here, with much larger property, Arnott walks off leash or just roams about. The thing is he can't really hear. If I need his attention, I have to clap really hard, or stomp or bang something really hard.

This was a heart-breaking discovery as I still think he is a little pup. He is almost 13 years old. I know he is "senior" in dog-age. Still...

I get ready to go to bed, call his name. He's sleeping on his pillow. I pat him, and I just startle him despite the fact I was calling his name... I don't think this isn't a medical issue. I think it's simply his age issue.

Ahhh sigh...

According to this website below, Arnott is 68 years-old, and Mana is 44 years-old in human age.

It's Gonna Be OK

Not right now, but one day, it will be OK. One day I will actually enjoy being single, I will know what to do with my freedom. Maybe I'll even make some friends, finally. My sponsor said I come across as aloof. Normally, this would hurt me, but I've heard it before, and I have even said in the past that I repel people. It is definitely something to figure out. So, I appear aloof...but I can't see it. I don't know what I'm doing, and if I did, I would stop. I want to be approachable and I'd love to have some friends. They just have to be intelligent and hysterically funny and like to go shopping and drink lots of coffee. And they have to think that I am hysterically funny, too.

It would also help if they liked dogs, and were interested in writing, or might want to be in band with me, or needed a roommate. And it would be great if they were vegan socialists with no TV's. But I won't be TOO picky.

Anyway, if I could ever turn off my own damn TV, I might be able to get closer to becoming the person that I want to be. A hysterically funny, intellectual, vegan socialist with a Pit Bull and no TV.

One day I'll have my yurt and my windmill, my organic garden, my Pit Bull, and my writing career. All while maintaining a flawless figure and unbelievably soft skin for someone of my (at this future time) maturity.

Maybe I should reconsider taking a writing class.

Who knows. I just know that one day it won't hurt like this and I'll be able to think rationally and be the woman that I have always dreamed of being. I never imagined myself as ending up alone, but maybe once I get used to it, it won't be so bad.
