Chantique Speaks Up

Based on my self-experience, the relationship between humans-their pets is just like human-human relationships. It needs a chemistry.

I have 3 dogs. The cutest is Cupcake and she's the first dog I adopted. The most beautiful is Chantique. Her name itself means "beautiful" in Indonesian. The most "plain" one is C'est Moi, but strangely I'm closer to C'est Moi than the other two. I don't find that  both Cupcake and Chantique are related to me emotionally, even though they are just as  sweet as C'est Moi. Maybe because Cupcake  is hyper and Chantique is cranky. I'm cranky myself, so we don't meet emotionally. We share no chemistry, just the same bad traits...

The other night, Danny complained about his dogs. He has 2 Shih-Tzus. The older one is named "Heaven" and he's the father of the puppy named "Chicco". I met them both few weeks ago and I don't blame Danny for loving Heaven more than Chicco even though he's older. Yes, he has better looks, but that's not the reason why he's more loved than his daughter. Heaven wants to get closer to Danny more than Chicco.

That's the same other reason I have. C'est Moi wants to get close to me more than Cupcake and Chantique. Cupcake is closer to Miskiyah, and Chantique is closer to Dad. But their closeness isn't like the closeness I have with C'est Moi. The girls don't follow neither Dad and/or Miskiyah every where they go. They don't cry when they don't see their favorite humans. But C'est Moi always follows me everywhere I go. He even waits for me when I'm in the shower. Sitting at the corner patiently.

Comparing to Cupcake and C'est Moi, Chantique is the most independent dog. She prefers being alone than being with any dog, any human. She's a strong girl, though. Last year, she got miscarriage and that's the first and the only time she cried when the baby got aborted. Few days ago, she passed out, and we wondered why because she looked healthy. When I held her close, I could hear that she was hiding her cry...

I tried to get close to Chantique, but she never let me.

I believe that God has the same reasons when He loves us. He loves those who want to stay close to Him, and once we win His heart, He will give (most of ) everything our heart desires.
